Surprising new resident of Bradsfield CreekYesterday we went on a field tour to Bradsfield Creek and West Fork Fish Creek with Terry Gregory (IDFG), Alan Sands, Joe Russell and Codie Martin (BLM), and Chuck Blair (CH2MHill) to follow up on the restoration work that we have done over the past four years in this watershed. Everyone appreciated the growth of willows, sedges, rushes, rose, dogwood, and even a few aspen, alder, and cottonwood. We could all see that the biologs were working effectively to help the new floodplain become established. The new resident moose appears to be enjoying this new growth and was disappointed and a bit confused when we bumped him out of his shady home on a hot day. From the look of things, it seems that he’s been here for a while.
